New England Baptist Academy
Kevin A. Hicks
Administrator, High School Teacher
I was saved in December of 1981 and two years later visited New England Baptist Church. I was baptized and joined the church after attending only a few times. I have been a member here ever since.
In 1984 the church began New England Baptist Theological Institute. I majored in education and attended classes taught by principals, teachers, and administrators of Christian schools. I received an excellent education as the focus was on the practical aspects of Christian education. I graduated in 1988, and in 1990 left my job of 14 years to heed God’s call to teaching at the Academy. One year later, I also assumed the responsibility of Administrator of the Theological Institute.
Over the past 26 years, I have taught grades 5-12, but my main duties have been in the junior and senior high. I have taught all subjects except science and was Junior High homeroom teacher for 18 years. I also have coached basketball and soccer.
Recently the Lord opened up the opportunity for me to be the Academy administrator. I am excited about this new challenge as God is stretching me and growing my faith. I have been working with teenagers since 1984 and have a love and desire for helping them to grow both spiritually and academically.
Teaching is my passion and ‘I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry‘ (I Tim. 1:12).

I count it a privilege to minister at New England Baptist Academy. I knew at a very early age that I wanted to be a teacher. I graduated from Hyles Anderson College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. For many years however, I worked in the secular world, in both the medical and business fields. Although I was able to grow and succeed in each of those fields, there was always something missing. In 2002, I was blessed to begin my ministry here at NEBA...what had been missing all those years was found at New England Baptist Academy. Serving God full-time was what I was called to do and I cannot imagine doing anything else with my life! I do not take my calling lightly and strive to love and serve my students each day by teaching them about a God who loves them. John 3:4 ~ "I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth." There is nothing greater than the awesome privilege and responsibility of teaching young children the truth of God!
I was saved at the age of three when my mother prayed with me shortly after she became a believer in Christ. Growing up, I knew that someday I wanted to be a teacher. I attended Massasoit Community College and took several Early Childhood classes. I received my EEC certificate in Infant/Toddler and pre-school education. I have worked in a variety of pre-school settings over the past 25 years. I enjoy working with children; I love to watch them grow and develop in creativity and knowledge.
1st/2nd Grade Teacher
I have been teaching at New England Baptist Academy for over 20 years. I was able to teach throughout the years that our own sons attended and graduated from our school as well. I have been blessed with great opportunities to be involved in the lives of some great Christian families. I have seen many changes in the world and even in the churches in America. I am so thankful for the faithful steadfastness of the Word of God and the promises found there to make is possible to see Christian homes continue to grow strong in our day. My desire is to reach the heart of each child with the Gospel and equip them to learn and grow with God's working in every area of their lives. Hebrews 3:4 ~ "For every house is builded by some man; but he that builds all things is God."
3rd/4th Grade Teacher
I have been teaching in Christian schools in New England for over 26 years. It gives me great pleasure to help unlock the keys to learning in a Christian atmosphere.
